Easy and secure grab bar installation. I used the Solid Mount to install grab bars in my fiberglass shower enclosure. Instructions were easy to follow. (Be sure to watch the video.) The result was great looking and extremely secure grab bars in the shower.

You want this kit If you are installing a grab bar in a typical fiberglass shower, you want this kit.It has all the parts you need.It uses large lag bolts into the stud for an incredibly strong mount.It is adjustable to fit sculpted/curved fiberglass panels.The instructions are amazingly good - step by step with pictures.It took me less than an hour, and I am very happy with the results.

Mounting instructions I found the instructions are easy to follow, the only problem that I encountered was that you have to have it mounted exactly perfect on the plastic rings. Other wise you will have problems getting the caps on. I noticed that other people here have mentioned the same problem. I had to shave the plastic off a little to get the caps on. Other then that it seems to be firmly mounted. I would recommended it for people that need a mounting for a hollow wall.

As sturdy as claimed, but watch the installation video This product solves the problem fiberglass shower or tub surround owners have installing gab bars. As the product listing shows, the walls of the shower are not in contact with the studs in the wall, to which you MUST attach the grab bars. Behind mine there were 7/8” to 1-1/8 inch air gaps which wouldn’t have allowed a secure mounting without this kit. Just swallow your surprise at the cost for what you get and order it. You’ll thank yourself the first time someone needs the grab bar. Some tips: 1) wear a mask when using a hole saw on fiberglass, which wasn’t mentioned in the install video. Your lungs don’t like fiberglass dust; 2) the positioning of the second mount is critical down to the millimeter or less, so measure a lot more than you cut. I suggest trimming both of the flat plates down about a millimeter all around so that if your placement of the mount is off by much more than a hair you can still get the cover plates to snap on at the end of the installation.

Flawless Worked perfect to mount 24” grab bar in our fiberglass shower. Measure twice drill once and you will have good results. Very sturdy as well.
